Triathlete Alistair Brownlee shows incredible sportsmanship
British triathlete Alistair Brownlee gave up a chance at winning the World Triathlon Series in Mexico after going to the aid of his brother Jonny.
With the finish line in sight, a visibly fatigued Jonny started losing his feet. Alistair was battling with South African Henri Schoeman, when he saw his younger brother struggling and went to his aid.
In an incredible showing of sportsmanship, Alistair – a dual Olympic gold medalist, helped his brother to the finish line, where he literally pushed Jonny to second place before claiming third for himself.
Jonny received medical attention on the finish line and spent the night in hospital as a precaution.
